- Born: 1760, ?lower Bermudian, Adams Co., Pennsylvania
- Marriage: Unknown before 1785 in Hampshire Co., VA
- Died: Before 1803, ?ross Co., OH
General Notes:
“Maryland Militia in the Revolutionary War” p. 106: ‘Frederick County’ [7 Mar 1776] Capt. Henry Boteler; Lt. Thomas Odle, etc.; rank & file, Adam Boot (Henry Ault, Wm. Ault, John Ault, etc.); p. 237: ‘Washington County’ [1 Jul 1777/5 Oct 1778] List of Officers and Men in Capt. Henry Botelers Company: (4th class) George Boot, Adam Boot (‘6th Class’ Henry Ault, Lieut. Thomas Odel, inter al. familiar surnames); VA 1784 census: Geo. has family; b. d. & p. surmised < oldest siblings; 1787 owner of land adjacent to his father’s in Hardy Co., VA; 1789, owns 32 acres; E. L. Judy: “Geo. Boots heads family of 4” 1790 VA census; mentioned in his father’s 1803 will, with unspecified children — it is possible, even likely that other children than these surmised from indirect evidence, were born to George Boots and his unknown wife — note especially, that while Greene Co., OH records show Samuel Peterson married ‘Hannah Heaton’ 4 May 1821 (also C. S. Boots gives 22 Feb 1821), another source, “History of Greene Co., OH (Robinson) p. 276: ‘Joseph Boots, Xenia 1839; brother-in-law of Samuel Peterson’ which implies that Hannah is a Boots; 32 acreas (noted above) sold in 1833 (presuming death) by Adam Stiffle [Boots, Jr.] to George Londerman [unsigned paper, “Boots or Stieffel Land Transfers, Hardy Co., VA”]; death prior to 1803 presumed because father’s will speaks of his ‘children’ (unspecified) and not him
Noted events in his life were:
