“Descendants of Adam Boots” [LDS film#1033425] by Clyde S. Boots, p. 4; family charts and letters; Barbara Carpenter family sheet [late 20th century]: ‘Daniel Wm. Dillman, during the Civil War took his family to Iowa, possibly accompanying some of the Boots family, although [he] owned land there. Returned [to MO] after the war. Rachel died 3 weeks after the birth of Edith May (16 Oct 1869). Daniel & Rachel supposed to be buried [in] Old Terry Cemetery (no stones or records), Saint Clair Co., MO, Monegaw township, section 25’; 1850 census, Randolph Co., IN (p. 144A; ll. 19-24): age 20, born in Ohio; 1860 Saint Clair Co., MO census (Monegaw township) p. 1019 (also p. 148) [ll. 12-16]: age 29, born OH — immediate neighbor of her parents and 2 of their children; death age approximation inferred from 1880 Saint Clair Co., MO census (Monegaw township) [E.D. 229; Sh. 9; ll. 42-50]: children born having new mother, her husband’s second wife; Randolph Co., IN Marriage Records; Barbara Carpenter’s correction to L. Ellingham’s “Daniel Wm. Dillman Descendants” [2002]: born ‘ca. 1831’ & same reference to death 3 weeks after birth of last child as above; W. Leroy Cole (snowbird@sutv.com) to L. Ellingham [16-VIII-2005]: ‘… Rachel Boots is a daughter of Martin S. and Susannah Boots. She died in November 1869 from complications of childbirth. Daniel married Elsa Lewelllan on July 18, 1871.
