Michael and Mary (Boot)s Alt’ [manuscript: 2001]: of Michael
Alt’s 12 children, only first 8 are certainly those of Mary
Boots; remaining 4 likely a second marriage to a Mary after
presumed death of Mary Boots: ‘Christena Alt, circa 1803 —
1860s’; family group chart (Mrs. Julia A. Thompson, Baltimore,
MD): ‘said to be born in 1816 [undocumented source] & a
signatory to estate documents for 1824 and 1826 regarding her
father’; 1860 Pendleton Co., VA census (Bushy Run P. O.) p. 70:
‘Christina Alt’, age 57, living with Wm. & Amanda (Judy) Alt
family [Bushy Run P. O.] — using her maiden name: “Pendleton
Co., WV, Past & Present” [1991]: ‘Michael Alt’ by Chris J. Alt,
denies a marriage given by the family group chart above
mentioned to Jacob C. Judy, stating Christina remained single
through life, and since such a marriage has never been found,
and Christina is single, using her maiden name in 1860, the
hypotheis is accepted that she did not marry; Clara Mae Ross’s
“Jacob Alt” [2001] p. 265: born ‘Hardy Co., VA’
