Boots; remaining 4 likely a second marriage to a Mary after
presumed death of Mary Boots: ‘circa 1795 — after 1860’; family
group chart (Mrs. Julia A. Thompson, Baltimore, MD): ‘named in
will of Adam Boots, 19 April 1802 & also a signatory to estate
documents for 1824 and 1826 regarding his father’; “Genealogies
of the Kimble & Alt Families” (in Hardy Co., VA) by H. A. Alt
[1937] p. 39; “Pendleton Co., WV, Past & Present” [1991] p. 67:
‘Michael Alt & wife to IN abt 1848; son Jacob’; 1850 Fayette
Co., OH census (Marion township) p. 57: age ‘70’, living with
Jacob Alt (son), age 25, born in Virginia, and son’s family;
“Alt & Kimble Families” pp. 49-50: ‘Jacob Alt [son of Michael &
Eliz. (Light) Alt] went to Indiana about 1849’; 1860 Kosciusko
Co., IN census (Seward township), [ll. 9-16], p. 289: age ‘65’,
born in Virginia; farmer; real estate valued $2,000; personal
assets, #485; “Palestine Cemetery (Harrison township, Koscuisko
Co., IN) Records” p. 81: ‘died 3 Aug 1861, ?7-3-13 [years,
months, says old]’ — note that an ‘Isaac I. (or O.) Alt’, age 35
or 33, born ‘IN’ is living with family in the 1860 Kosciuski
Co., IN census, a contemporary of son Jacob Alt, though the 2
births are in different states (VA & IN)
