bullet  General Notes:

“Descendants of Adam Boots” [LDS film#1033425] pp. 674-679, 680,
691 (family group sheet) [p. 691: “pedigree chart for Mary Eliz.
Boots” gives Eli Boots’ wife to be ‘Martha Lackey’, and
birthdate ‘11 Jan 1815’]; e-mail, Mary Eliz. Boots to L.
Ellingham [30-VII-2001]: ‘[Clyde S. Boots] & I concluded, but
without proof, that Martha [Lackey] may have been married to a
Cunningham prior to marrying Eli’ otherwise noting Martha
definitely to be a sister of James Lackey’ & ‘Eli, Margaret and
Clara are all buried in Bowers Cemetery, Montgomery Co. (Sugar
Creek township) IN’ — which she elsewhere equates to the
Peterson Cemetery; e-mail Mary Davis to L. Ellingham
[31-VII-2001]: ‘born 11 Jan 1915 at Xenia, OH; married 7 Apr
1834 in Greene Co., OH; died 22 Sep 1876 in Montgomery Co., IN’
& ‘to IN 2 years after [Eli & Martha] were married’; “Peterson
(Biedert) Family History” pp. 52-68 [LDS film#1036370] by Clyde
S. Boots; anonymous typed text [n.d.]: ‘Eli and Asa stayed in
Indiana and established home 1/4 miles apart’; ‘Eli married and
had Samuel, William, James F., Isaac, Jacob and a daughter who
went to Illinois and never was heard from again; Eli’s wife died
and he married Margaret A. Peairs, Sept. 17, 1867’ — since Isaac
is unknown to every other record, while ‘Elvora’ appears in the
1860 census, this is perhaps the same person — “Descendants of
Hans Adam Stieffel” by Sherrin Winn Rooney [2001]: gives (1st)
wife’s name as ‘Martha Lackey’ married in ‘1834’ who was born in
‘1816’ with 6 children named (approximately the first 6 given
here); 1860 Montgomery Co., IN census (Sugar Creek township) p.
91: age 44, born in Ohio; farmer; real estate value, $8,000;
personal estate value, $2,000; 1870 Montgomery Co., IN census
(Sugar Creek township) p. 201 [ll. 18A-20A]: age 55, born OH;
farmer; real estate valued $21,500; personal assets $500;
“Peterson Cemetery (Sugar Creek Township, Montgomery Co., IN)
Records”: ‘Eli Boots, 1-14-1815/9-22-1876’; Richard Williamson
to L. Ellingham [3-IX-2004]: vital statistics
