the farmer of Henry C. Hedrick where Aults are present,
including Mary (Goodnight) ‘Ault, 78’, matriarch of the Alts of
this line; and with this family are Henry A. Ault, 11, nephew;
and Emily S. Ault, 8, niece — likely children of Asher & his
first wife (Emily Jane Hedrick) or Mahala Alt’s; “Pendleton Co.,
WV, Past & Present” [1991]: ‘Michael Alt’ by Chris J. Alt:
‘Asher Alt was born 1839 and died 1876. He married (1) Emily
Jane Hedrick March 11, 1866 in Pendleton County, WV … he married
(2) Mahala McUlty’ 1874 in Pendleton Co, WV’ (1876 death dates
accommodates census entry for birth of Rosa, assuming hers a
posthumous birth re her father); “Pendleton Co, WV, Past &
