Hand, Minister of the Gospel, and also married Margaret Emiline Minks Crocket on 28 March 1914. Solomon died 20-21 Jan 1919, Livonia Missouri, buried St. John's Cemetery, Putnam County, Missouri. Solomon was in the Civil War and a prisoner of war. Sol lived lots of places including Putnam County, MO, Iowa County Iowa 1865-1871 (up here near Alexander's family and Sarah Good's family), Livonia Missouri 1871-1876; Broken Bow, NE (where many of David's family settled) 1876-1902; Chelan Washington 1902-1907; and back to Livonia, MO (the home area) from 1907-1919. He had one daughter with Permelia. Her name was Victoria (1859-Feb 1933) and she died in the Lemon's Infirmary (like a county poor farm for the sick and disabled) at Lemons Missouri and is buried there. Joseph Dollard age 28, Francis Dollard, age 30, sister, and Victoria Garringer, 20, sister and Permelia Neighbors age 49, mother, were all listed in the 1880 census of Liberty Township, Putnam County Missouri in House #135. Solomon was a traveling man by then and Permelia had a different last name.’ & ‘Circuit Court Books, Putnam County, Missouri, file #874: Solomon Garriner vs. Permelia Garringer filed July 29, 1861 petition for divorce. Solomon states that on 29 Dec 1857 in Putnam County, he was married to the defendant. She lived as his wife until the 1st day of April 1859. He performed his duties as a husband and was kind and affectionate. She refused to cook suitable food for him and his hired hands and frequently left home without cause and refused to fix clothing “as a wife should do.” He also stated that she had a husband living at the time of their marriage and he didn’t know about his until after they were married. Her husband, Edward Dollard, place of residence and where married unknown. He stated that Permelia had been gone 2 years. Born of that marriage was one child, a female, “now aged about 18 months.” Solomon sued for custody of the child. Permelia sued back. On 17 Feb 1866, the sheriff seized a cow of Solomon’s and sold it for $18.05 to pay for the cost of Permelia’s counter-suit. Permelia filed a non-suit and cause dismissed and Permelia recovered costs for suit. (research done by Joyce Casady, 1984)’
