William then married Louisa J. Neagle Forbes (30 Sept 1830-4 Feb 1904 on tombstone-daughter of Miles and Levina Naegle) on 26 Oct 1865 by William H. Neighbors, Minister of the Gospel, Putnam County Missouri (she had a daughter Fanny Levina Forbes Ulrich (Pat McNeel used to correspond with her) and I have a picture of the 3 of them. William also adopted a girl named Sarah Rebecca Centers Wells of Aberdeen South Dakota. William married Nancy Mercer Terrell Berry on 26 June 1906 Putnam County Marriage book 5, page 107 (daughter of Joshua and Frances Mercer). Her dates are 11 Oct 1847 to 8 April 1930 and she is buried at St. John's Cemetery in Putnam County, MO as Nancy Garringer (have picture of stone). William died 22 Jan 1921 Putnam County, MO and is buried beside Louisa at Berry Cemetery, Putnam County, MO. William H. (39), Louisa J. (41) and Sarah R. Centers, age 7, servant, are listed in the 1880 census for Liberty Twp, Putnam County, MO at house #140. Obit: from Putman County newspaper. William H. Garringer, age 80 died at his home in Livonia, MO, Jan 22. Born in Indiana in 1840 and moved to Missouri at the age of 13 years. He was the youngest of ten children, all of whom as deceased. He was married to Mrs. Nancy Berry in 1906 who yet survives him. Mr. Garringer enlisted in the Federal Army at the beginning of the Civil War and served four years. He was actively engaged in forty battles, including Shilo, Cornith, Inka, Kennesaw Mountain…….Savannah. Several of these engagements were in Sherman’s March to the Sea. Funeral services were conducted by A.C. Elliff at the home of the deceased on January 24. He was laid to rest in the Berry Cemetery. I have a general affidavit for William’s pension that Nancy signed. It says she was married to John Terrell on 12 Sept 1851, next married to Charles T. Berry who died at Sullivan County Mo on May 20, 1902 and that she was next married to William Garringer. William Garringer was first married to Elizabeth Rash who died at Putnam County, MO on 11 March 1865, then Louisa Forbes who died on 5 Feb 1906 and that William died on 22 Jan 1921 and that she wanted pension as John Terrell’s widow pension and William Garringer’s accrued pension at the time of his death. I also have an obit for Nancy and one for Louisa.’;
