venue may have been in Hampshire Co., VA; military [War of 1812]
‘pension papers’; Finley & Putnam: Geo. Boots > celebrated
hunter, Ross Co., OH, c. 1805 — “Roster of Ohio Soldiers 1812
War” p. 49: private, possibly a corporal in Capt. Martin
Armstrong’s Company, 22 Aug 1812 / 22 Feb 1813 & 28 Jul / 18 Aug
1813, but pension applications’ deathdate [11-XI-1812] would
preclude; however, son Joseph Boots’ cemetery birthdate [24 Aug
1813] suggests the later [1813] date is correct
