OH. Married to (1) Mary Wheeler (2) Barbara Boots daughter of
Garrett Boots and Elizabeth Peterson she was born in 1799 in
Virginia and died after 1850 in Logan Co., OH. William Archer
died of consumption of alcohol. Children: Joseph, William,
George, born 1827 IA/OK, Eli 1829 OH, Louis Archer 1831 Logan
Co., OH, Thomas Archer b 1834 OH, Melissa Archer born OH died
IA.’; 1850 Logan Co., OH census (Bloomfield twp) [Sep 1850], p.
56B, ll. 33-37: Thomas, age 16, b. OH; farmer; 1860 Putnam Co.,
MO census (Liberty township) [household 197-164]: age 25, born
OH; farm hand — with brother, George’s family; for a Thomas
Archer there is an entry in the1880 Guthrie Co., IA census at
Baker township [E.D. 75; Sh. 8; ll. 14+]: age 46, b. OH, parents
b. VA; farmer, with a large family, but children born in Ohio
conflict with Thomas’s being with his brother, George in

Archer (September 21, 2005) [in Reply to: Archers of Ohio,
Missouri & Oklahoma by Lewis Ellingham of 2912]: ’My g-g-father
is Thomas/Tomas Archer possibly from OH/IL/IA (?) area. He died
in OK possibly in 1933 (DOB?) but migrated from OH/IL because of
family issues? His (2nd?) wife was Barbara Gess (sp?). Have more
questions than answers. Any connections?’
