(“Union City, IN News Gazette” [Mon., 5 Feb 1973]): ‘Weldon
(Pete) Collins, 86, South Plam street, Farmland, died Sunday
morning, 4 Feb 1973 at the Randolph nursing home, following an
illness of several weeks. Mr Collins was born in Monroe
township, near Farmland, 2 Apr 1886 s/o Harrison & Sarah
Garringer Collins and lived in Monroe township most of his life.
His wife, Chloris Cloyd Collins, died 11 Jan 1969. Surviving are
three sons, Dallas of Fort Charlotte, FL, Stuart and Hobart,
both of Farmland; 10 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs Garth (Grace) Halstead of Ava, MO, and Mrs Ina King
of Farmland; two brothers, Herbert Collins of Farmland and Rev
Arlie Collins of Gaston. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at the Farmland Friends Church.… Burial will be in the Hopewell
Cemetery.…’
