the past 54 years, Isaac J. “Dyke” Garringer, 75, 3624 Manor Rd,
died at 11:30 a.m. Teusday in Community Hospital. He had been in
ill health for the past 6 months. He was maintenance supervisor
for the town of Edgewood until his illness and was born in Jay
County. He lived in Portland before moving here. He was a member
of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Senior
Citizens club and the Bethel Methodist Church. Surviving are 3
daughters, Mrs Lillian J. Burk, Mrs Pat Chaney & Mrs Nancy
Coppock, all of Anderson; 6 sons, Richard, Jesse, Dyke Jr, Rex &
Jerry Garringer, all of Anderson and Jimmy Garringer of Gaston
[Delaware Co., IN]; 1 brother, Louis Garringer of Portland; a
sister, Mrs Ida Eley of Portland; 28 grandchildren; & 21
great-grandchildren. He ws preceded in death by his wife Mabel
who died in 1965. Funeral services will be held … Friday …
