subject: William Preston Berry]: ‘I got your e mail from Google
sites about William Preston Berry and Rachel Pendroy. This may
be a stab in the dark, but the son of my ggg grandfather Thomas
D. Berry and the brother of my gg grandfather Richard Berry was
a Thomas Berry, about whom little is known. The family moved
from Highland Cunty, Ohio to Niles Twp., Delaware County, IN.
They settled near Albany and bought some land there in 1837.
Thomas was over 60 at the time, and we know nothing about his
wife, the mother of the children. He had remarried. The oldest
child, John, stayed behind in Highland County; he was a tanner.
The others were Caroline, Margaret, William, Thomas, and Richard
J. Thomas and Cinderella, the second wife, also had a child,
Elizabeth. It is believed that Thomas served in the Civil War. I
just thought that it might be more than a coincidence that there
were two William Berrys in Niles Twp., Delaware Co.’ & ‘I was
simply saying that two William Berrys in Niles Twp. of Delaware
County, IN, both born around 1820, both born in Ohio, seemed
more than coincidental. I am talking about the far-distant past,
that Thomas D. Berry might indeed be the father of William
Preston Berry.’

William married Rachel Pendroy [28] [MRIN: 2249], daughter of Jacob Pendroy [463] and Margaret Boots [11721], on 29 Apr 1847 in , Delaware, Indiana, USA. (Rachel Pendroy [28] was born on 22 Apr 1825 in , , Ohio, USA, died on 21 Jan 1902 in Velva, McHenry, North Dakota, USA and was buried in Velva, ND Cemetery.)
